This week, not only did the second graders locate entry words in the dictionary, they also practiced locating the pronunciation of the entry word, part of speech, definition and counted syllables as well. They did this with the help of a “Dictionary Dude.” See photo below.
Second graders also went on a virtual tour of the White House this week as we continue to learn about the symbols of our country. In addition, they “visited” Mount Rushmore and learned a bit about when and how it was made.
And, in math, we continued with our study of coins and how to add up small amounts of change. Today was “Fun Friday” and we used IXL for math. IXL is always a hit!
