Elementary

Our classrooms offer a creative space where every child feels safe, comfortable, seen, heard, and engaged. We create an environment where each student is supported and challenged to grow optimally both academically and socially. Every day, children have the chance to engage in a range of open-ended, multi-sensory, and fun activities.

We also provide an innovative curriculum, focusing on individualized learning and 21st-century skills. Our constructivist approach combines academic content with project-based learning to foster understanding and prepare students for independence and success.

Math

The mathematics curriculum at MWJDS combines inquiry-based and computational learning methods to teach basic calculation skills and applied mathematical concepts to students from kindergarten through higher grades. Students work at their own level, which may or may not be tied to their grade level in school, and on problems individually and in groups, using concrete materials for hands-on learning.

Science & Technology

The science curriculum at MWJDS involves hands-on learning through experiments and observations to explore the natural world. An inquiry-based approach helps students develop reasoning and observation skills, with age-appropriate technology integrated into the curriculum. Students are comfortable working on computers, utilizing them to explore the internet for information, web-quests, geographic locations, publish stories, and play educational games. Topics covered include the human body, water, electricity, rocks, plants, animals, and more, with manipulatives and experiments enhancing learning.
