It was a short but very full week in Chalav. We celebrated filling our mission mitzvah chart. Individual children earn mission mitzvah stickers and postcards when they do something kind for someone else, work especially hard at a particular task or just help around the classroom in a special way. The stickers go on a mission mitzvah chart and when as a class, we fill the chart, we celebrate with a mission mitzvah party. As it happens, the pre-K and K classes also finished their mission mitzvah chart this week so we had a joint celebration. Children wore pajamas and brought in their stuffed animals. We ate popcorn and watched a Shalom Sesame video. A great time was had by all.
The children even spoke Hebrew in their pajamas!
In honor of Thanksgiving, we used our tefillah time to think how we are thankful in our own lives. We compared what we are thankful as individuals to the blessings that we say all together as part of the Jewish people in Birchot HaShachar every morning. Then the students created Thanksgiving turkey centerpieces with their own special words of thanks.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
