Earlier this week my science group explored air through the use of balloon rockets. Students were provided with balloons of different sizes and balloon pumps. They had a blast trying to figure out if the travel distance of the balloon rocket would change based on type of balloon and amount of air. See pics below.
During Tefillah Hamorah Joanne taught us more about the Sh’ma. We were all given the opportunity to look at the Sh’ma in the Torah.
Grades 1 and 2 began learning some basic map skills. This week we focused on following directions. Students had to find their way through a path by counting steps and moving N, S, E and W.
We tried a brand new type of spelling! Instead of writing our words down to learn them, we said them aloud while doing different types of exercises. This was a great activity for those students who enjoy movement.
And, in country study we researched four attractions that we would like to visit and began learning about them. We will turn our information into letters home.
