Second graders have been so busy working on their country studies over the last few weeks. Our presentation boards are just about complete and we can’t wait to share them! After the break we will be making travel guides, passports, t-shirts and we will be cooking some wonderful international dishes.
My math group completed a graphing unit. We learned how to interpret and create bar graphs, line graphs, pictographs and circle graphs. We also reviewed tally marks. Over the last few days before break we reviewed addition and subtraction with regrouping.
For science, first and second graders have been divided up into four groups. Each group is working on a different science project for the science fair as we are learning all about the scientific method. This week we began creating our presentation boards. After break we will all be making hypotheses and then we will be ready to start experimenting!
The students all did an amazing job on their diorama book projects! They couldn’t wait to share what they had done. Everyone was able to clearly explain their book scene and the why the 10 words that they picked were so important to the story. Great job all around!
Wishing everyone a warm and wonderful winter break!
