Everyone transitioned well into a first full week of school! We dived right into a busy week full of new curriculum.
My math group began learning about fractions. We learned that a fraction is made up of equal parts that make up a whole. We spent time recognizing and labeling fractions as well as creating some of our own.
In science we created an ocean food chain game to be played just like the game of “War.” The games went home earlier this week.
We finished creating our “Me on the Map” projects and quickly learned that although we may live in different towns, we all live in the same state. So, we are now creating lap books about the state of Massachusetts.
Our weekly spelling began this week with a study of words that end in the /k/ sound. Students learned how to use their spelling boxes and will now continue to add any misspelled words from their daily work. Spelling will always be done on Mondays with a quiz on Fridays.
And, finally, nightly reading has been assigned. A reading log will go home every Monday to be returned to me on Fridays.
Shabbat Shalom,
