We’ve now officially reached the end of the fall holiday season and it’s been a great start to our Jewish school year. Last week we had an uplifting Sukkot service led by our 4th grade Hittah class. They demonstrated how to shake the lulav and etrog, led the celebratory prayers of hallel, and led the school in the tradition of hoshanot. Hoshanot are prayers in poetic acrostic form that ask God to make our year successful during Sukkot, when, according to the mishnah, the world is judged for water. Hittah wrote their own version of a Hoshana poem based on the things that are as important to our success as rain, and led the school while parading around the sukkah carrying lulav and etrog. Check out their new Hoshanah here.
