This week has been an uplifting time with the anticipation of and preparation for Purim, along with all the fun and silly moments related to Spirit Week. You’ve probably seen the wonderful pictures Deborah took of all the creative and colorful outfits both students and staff wore to school. The crazy hats/hair, the sports paraphernalia, the stuffed animals, and unexpected zoom backgrounds kept us conscious that each person’s uniqueness is always ready to burst forth given the opportunity. This is very much related to the story of Purim.
The secret hand of G-d was ever present, yet always just under the surface, in all the miraculous moments without which disaster would have befallen the largest Jewish region of the globe at that time. There is a lot of mystery in the story of Purim: hidden beliefs, hidden courage, and hidden agendas.
To me, the story of Purim reminds me that we should be bold and courageous, and that we should not be afraid to share our true colors of what makes each of us great. Most of all, this is to be a time of happiness, so let us be happy!
Happy Purim! Purim Sameach!
