Next week is Thanksgiving, a time in our country widely marked by gatherings of family and friends, lots of food, and good cheer.
This year, with coronavirus looming large, our MWJDS community of families and staff has largely decided to stay home and not have visitors. It is a sad reality that, aside from the physical threat of Covid-19, we have to contend with being apart from so many we know and love.
One major upside of being a part of a wonderful, warm community like we have here at MWJDS is that we keep finding ways to move forward, support one another, and make sure people feel they matter. At next week’s Panim el Panim event on Wednesday, we aim to do just that – become surrogate family for one another at a time when much family is so remote.
In our school we strive to make sure everyone feels they belong, and that they feel a part of something that matters. In this way, we help our children as well as one another to celebrate and affirm life.
Shabbat shalom,
