Since long vacations usually take their toll on Hebrew and have us forget things we have learned, we have been busy reviewing in order to grease the squeaky wheels of our memories. We are happy to welcome new students into our classes and mold the classroom group as a community. When it comes to Hebrew, the hardest thing for English speakers to do, is to construct a correct sentence in Hebrew, because Hebrew Grammar is very different than English. Since we believe in grammar as the access to teaching a language, we have been reviewing the basic correct sentence structure and the needed vocabulary with our returning students across the board.
The only class that needs no reviewing at all is our Kindergarten class, which is at the beginning of its Hebrew journey. These youngsters have been learning about what’s in their pencil box and the important words for celebrating the holidays.
Look for our future blogs for what the students have to say about Hebrew and maybe refresh your vocabulary or pick up a new word.
This time around, the 3-4 level say their favorite new word learned is ?????????? bakbook (bottle). It is fun to say and it is an onomatopoeic word!
