This week my math group worked on some math art. Each student created his/her perfect day in centimeters. First, the kids decided where they would want to go for the day and they created a map. Then, they measured the distance in centimeters between each stop. Last, they marked the distance with yarn. It was a lot of fun. Check out a couple of samples below.
My ELA group began learning about quotation marks. We focused on adding a comma and then putting what someone says between the marks. Next week we will focus on using the marks when what someone says starts the sentence.
And, finally, for science, Anafim worked together on a “practice experiment” as we begin to prepare for the science fair. We wanted to find out what would happen if we filled a tray with milk and added food coloring and dish soap. Would we get a “color symphony?” Our experiment failed. Questions that were asked:
Does the size and shape of the tray make a difference?
Does it matter what type of milk we use?
Is liquid food coloring better than gel when conducting this experiment?
Shabbat Shalom,
