Wow! It was a very exciting week in Chalav. On Tuesday, Chalav students lead tefillot for their parents and other special visitors and were each given their very own siddur. Awesome job, Chalav!
On Thursday, Chalav students shared their work in their portfolios with their families. These first graders have done amazing work this year. They have grown in so many ways!
As part of Writers’ Workshop, Chalav students are currently working on writing “How-to” books on topics including: How to Make Hot Chocolate, How to Feed a Beta Fish, How to Make a Fortune Teller, How to Draw Sonic and How to do a Cartwheel. In math, the children have been practicing adding and subtracting one digit numbers from two digit numbers. Next week we will begin a review of all of the math topics we have learned this year. As readers, Chalav students are reading a variety of books including: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, books in the Magic Tree House series and in the A-Z Mystery series and Monster Manners. For read aloud, we are listening to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl,
