Hi All,
Earlier this week Gefen did more work using the Sequencing “brain frame” from the EmPOWER program. A brain frame is EmPOWER’s term for a graphic organizer. In general, graphic organizers help students make sense of information and visualize it.
For this activity, students were broken into two groups. Each group was given 5 different random photographs. The students had to put the photographs in a specific order so that they told a story. Then the groups had to represent that story in a Sequencing Brain Frame. Here are some photos of the students working on their brain frames and then presenting their stories to the rest of the class.
Here is a photo of one group presenting their Sequencing Brain Frame.
We will continue to teach the students how to make use of various kinds of brain frames in the coming months. Among other things, these are great study skills tools!
Best,
Eliza
