A note from HaMorah Michelle’s Humanities class:
In our Humanities class we are studying refugees in South Sudan. We have learned about how hard their lives are. These people aren’t as lucky as we are. We would like to help them. One of their struggles is the lack of water. Instead of going to school, many children need to walk several hours through the hot and dry desert to collect water for their families to stay alive. When they carry the water back, they carry heavy water on their heads which can damage their backs and necks. While researching ways to help, we found a neat contraption called the “Hippo Roller”. A “Hippo Roller” can hold about five times as much as they could of with a traditional bucket and it can be rolled so that it is easier to carry. A “Hippo Roller” is also a faster, safer, easier and a more durable way of collecting water. We would like to buy a “Hippo Roller” to help a village in Africa. It will cost us $175 to buy a “Hippo Roller” and to send it to South Sudan in Africa.
Please buy our baked goods at the talent show and donate so we can help these kids in South Sudan! Thank you!
UPDATE:
***Thanks to your generous contributions, we raised enough money buy TWO Hippo Rollers and send them to South Sudan! We are so glad you could help us help families in South Sudan have access to water, and as a result, to better health, safety, and education.***
