One of the Middle School book clubs is currently reading Brooklyn Nine by Alan Gratz. This is the story of a family’s ties to baseball and America though 9 generations. They are reading this book as they learn about 20th century American history and completing a big TIMEline magazine project.
In the book, baseball is used as a metaphor for America. Here are a few of our own MWJDS metaphors.
MWJDS is a boat. We work together to go farther.
MWJDS is a puzzle. Its parts don’t go together well if something is missing. The small parts make something bigger.
MWJDS is a team. We all work together!
